AISECT (All India Society for Electronics & Computer Technology), started as SECT (Society for Electronics & Computer Technology) is a social enterprise that was founded in 1984 by Santosh Choubey, a visionary leader who wanted to take IT to the people. His aim was to popularise science and technology, create awareness about IT, and impart computer literacy to the masses.

Over the next 30 years, AISECT expanded its scope and scale and evolved into a network of 20,000 centres in 27 states and 3 UTs of India. These centres are engaged in delivery of education, include formal training courses in IT and related vocations, and online services across the country. About 1,00,000 candidates are benefitted every year through the various skilling programmes available at AISECT centres.

Courses At Aisect

IT Education and Training

AISECT offers a range of courses in IT and related vocations, such as hardware and networking, software development, multimedia and animation, accounting and finance, banking and insurance, retail management, hospitality and tourism, etc. AISECT also develops training contents in Indian languages to cater to the diverse needs of the learners.

AISECT has also partnered with various national and international organisations and institutions to provide quality education and certification to its students. Some of these include.

IT Services

AISECT utilises IT for rural development by providing online services such as banking, insurance, e-governance, e-commerce, telemedicine, e-learning, etc. to the local communities. AISECT has also pioneered the concept of multipurpose IT centres, which provide a viable and sustainable model for rural IT centres. These centres offer a variety of services under one roof and generate employment opportunities for the local youth.

AISECT has also been recognised as a Common Service Centre (CSC) operator by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) under the Digital India programme. AISECT has also been awarded various projects by various state governments and agencies to implement e-governance initiatives.

IT Awareness and Advocacy

AISECT has also initiated several innovative campaigns and programmes for popularising science and technology and computer literacy among different segments of the society. Some of these include:

  • IT Yatras

    Mobile vans equipped with computers & internet that travel to remote areas and conduct workshops on IT for children and students.

  • National IT Olympiad

    This is an annual online competition that tests the IT skills and knowledge of students from across the country.

  • Agmarknet Yatra:

    A project that aims to Provide farmers information on markets, prices, weather, etc. via internet kiosks.

  • Janadhar Yatra:

    A Campaign that informs remote and hilly communities about government schemes and benefits through multimedia.

  • Kaushal Vikas Yatra

    Programme that trains and certifies youth in sectors like retail, hospitality, tourism, etc.
